SECTION # 1  PRUNING 101  approx 2 hours 

10:00 AM – 30-45 minute lecture discussion about Plant pruning at 134 W 4650 N Rexburg

10:45 AM – Hands on demonstration of different types of pruners, loppers, saws, sharpening tools, uses, etc. I will provide all of those and give recommendation for brands and why.

11:00 Am –  Hands-on Pruning Experience.

Start with Apple/Fruit trees across the street

Show pruning of various shrubs etc.

All this outside on site.

**Please bring pruners and loppers if you have them.


12:30 PM Lecture and Discussion on Mulch and Soil.

Cover General benefits of composting and what is happening in with microorganisms.

Cover some fun science and interesting facts to get people interested in it.

Cover how to compost.

What are good easy carbon sources to add

What are good easy nitrogen sources to add

Water and Air balance

Avoided Stinky anaerobic respiration.

Soil improvements using compost.

Reducing fertilizers in the garden and landscape through partnering with nature.

Different types of manures and pros and cons including their natural Nitrogen, Potassium, & Phosphorus levels.

Possible examples of good compost
